We all know people who we could label “passionate”, “fanatical”, “high energy”, or “relentless.” Conversely, we also know those that are “laid back”, “chill”, “easy going”, “passive.” While we may have our personal preferences on the type of people with which we would like to spend our time, a “well rounded” person (both personally and professionally) will have characteristics that favor both passion and passiveness.
For example, a person that always has the “motor running” in high gear can potentially miss subtleties in a business negotiation, conversation, or instruction. In this case, having some level of “calm” that allows for comprehension of a task or situation can be extremely beneficial for the overall outcome. On the flip side, a “laid back” personality type may need that little nudge to light a fire that will allow a start to a process, goal, or development of a successful plan.
Many times a successful organization or group will have a myriad of complementary personality types/styles that will create an environment of opportunity and break through. The key is to find the right “mix” for the organization and strive for the very best the situation has to offer!
Success is a journey filled with twists and turns. Satisfaction comes in navigating those obstacles with a strong team that can handle almost any situation.
That’s the bottomline…
“Change…Part Nature…Part Opportunity”
